The Real You

“Pay close attention to that spiritual being living within you.” ~Al Carraway
Each of us entered this world as a righteous son or daughter of God with so much potential within us to affect everything and everyone we come in contact with for good. But the trials, adversities, and challenges of life blind us or distort our view of the big picture of promised blessings that will be ours, should we correct our vision and stay focused.

May we all remember who we are. Because it is that sure knowledge that will help us stay on holy ground, and it will see us through the coming times ahead.

This I Do Know

"How might we have joy in our lives, despite all that we may face? Again, from the scriptures: ‘Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you.’” ~Thomas S. Monson

For some, this is a time of great spiritual awakening, while others become lost in the trials and
mounting adversities of life, of which none of us escape.
I don't know much. I have no new and exciting words of hope or encouragement. I simply have these . . . because this is what I do know, and for me, this knowledge becomes more sure with each day that passes:
Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, the Savior and Redeemer of this world. He is our Lord and Master - He is MY Lord and Master! He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the Creator of worlds without number. How deeply and humbly blessed I feel for my little place in His world! Because of His atoning sacrifice, I can be forgiven, and you can be forgiven.
I feel the Lord's mercy in my life every single day without fail. I feel His love for me, and I know He knows my name. I don't just believe this, I KNOW!
At times like now, when struggling with an illness seems endless, I am more comforted by this truth than I can put into words. I'm actually teary thinking about how much joy this knowledge brings me. I wish I could share it with you. I wish I could find the words to express the hope, and the love, that accompanies such joy.

I wish it for all of us.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
Amen.

A Sacred Calling

Neil L. Anderson said, "Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling . . . It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for."

When I look on my growing posterity, I am reminded of the blessings of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob of the Old Testament, and I am deeply humbled and blessed to share in that heavenly abundance. Each and every one of the special spirits God sent to our home showed His trust in my husband and I to care for them as He cares for them, to love them as He loves them. That He found ME (excess baggage and all) worthy enough to be their mother continues to amaze me, and despite the trials that they have faced in their individual lives - and will continue to face - they have grown into righteous men and women of God who do their best to live the gospel of Christ, and with their amazing spouses, strive to raise their children in righteousness to the best of their ability.
I am so proud of them, and though I am sure there will be days every now and again when I will suffer a mother's sorrow over them, my joy is full, because the Lord looked on me in this life with favor.
However, even if I had not been blessed with my wonderful family in this life, I believe with all my heart that I would have been blessed with them in the next, should I have been found worthy of the blessing, because that is the kind of father our Heavenly Father is. He never forgets any of His sons and daughters, as long as we never forget Him.

So, to all you beautiful women, those with children and without, have an awesome Mother's Day!
Lots of love to you!

Bonus Blessings

Some days all I need from God is an acknowledgment that He is there and is aware of me, and that need is always filled without me even having to ask.
When we acknowledge our Father in Heaven with our gratitude, He will always acknowledge us. A heartfelt thank you to Him will manifest His love and open our eyes to blessings we never even thought to ask for.
I love those days!
